Organization’s History.
The Kwangu/Ngakwami Presidential Title Deeds Program was established by Cabinet on the 11th of June 2023 to empower families by providing secure ownership of their homes and bestow dignity to countless millions of Zimbabweans in informal and dysfunctional settlements in line with the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) and aims to transform Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy by 2030.
This ambitious program, championed by the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe, was announced in December 2021 and launched in April of 2023 with a bold vision:
“Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo/Ilizwe Lakhiwa Ngabanikazi Balo”

The primary objective of KNPTDP is to undertake the provision of Deeds of Grant to all households (“Beneficiaries”) who have taken occupancy of Properties owned by the State subject to a Deed of Grant from the State and a waiver covering the provision of Infrastructure Services to allow the registration of a Mortgage Bond against each Beneficiary’s property.

Objectives
Issuance of Title Deeds: To provide title deeds to residents of informal or unregulated settlements, long-standing tenants in local authority housing, and occupants in rural growth points.
Infrastructure Development: Develop necessary infrastructure, including tarred roads, water supply and sewerage systems, to enhance living conditions.
Financial Facilitation: Coordinate the floating of infrastructure bonds to raise funds for service provision and housing upgrades.

Kwangu/Ngakwami is a not-for-profit organization established to facilitate the advancement of the Presidential Title Deeds Program as well as future infrastructural development projects in the selected areas nationwide. The project runs under the theme leaving no one and no place behind, in line with the Presidents mantra Nyika Inova Kwa nevene vayo/ilizwe lakhiwa ngabanikazi balo. The project is a project of strategic national importance as it aims to formalize and develop informal settlements as well as correct historical colonial imbalances that led to the growth of informal settlements and under development in urban areas. The project is non-partisan and all inclusive. Kwangu/Ngakwami Program, will run a country wide program until every informal settlement is formalized and regulated, allowing all citizens of Zimbabwe to benefit from the Presidential Title Deed Program.
